Questions, answered plainly.
Number transfers have enough fine print already. Here is the short version.
Is Number Harbor another messaging app?
No. It is a continuity service for an old number. Standard is receive-only. Pro and higher include replies from your old number.
How many numbers can I add?
Version 1 supports one Harbor number per account and one Apple subscription per account.
When does billing start?
Billing starts when you confirm the subscription through Apple, before you submit the carrier transfer. Carrier delays do not postpone subscription charges.
How long does a number transfer take?
Timing depends on the carrier and the accuracy of your account information. Transfers often take several business days but can take longer. Number Harbor cannot guarantee a completion date.
Can I reply to messages?
Pro, Pro Plus, and Enterprise include replies. Standard is receive-only. Replies count toward the monthly message allowance.
What happens at the monthly limit?
At 90%, you’ll get a notification. At 100%, messaging pauses to help prevent missed messages. It will resume once you upgrade or your next billing cycle starts.
What happens when I cancel?
Service continues through the paid period. It then pauses, and the number enters a 30-day protection period. You can reactivate or request a transfer out during that time.
Can I transfer my number to another carrier?
Yes. Your new carrier initiates the port. Number Harbor opens a verified support ticket, helps provide the required port-out information, and keeps service active until transfer confirmation.
Can a released number be recovered?
Recovery is not guaranteed. After the 30-day protection period, Number Harbor releases the number and it may eventually return to carrier inventory.
Does Number Harbor guarantee every message?
No telecommunications service can guarantee every SMS, security code, carrier transfer, or notification. Keep critical account recovery methods up to date.
